The Acura of Boston Corporate Art Collection

Bernardi Auto Group and its affiliate, Acura of Boston, are proud supporters of the community. This commitment includes local civic, youth, educational and cultural organizations throughout Boston and the MetroWest and MetroSouth regions where we do business.

One of our long-standing associations is with Danforth Museum and School of Art located in Framingham. Each year, Danforth sponsors its juried members show, “Off the Wall” which regularly enjoys over 1,000 submissions by nearly 500 local artists in a wide array of media including print, photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media and installation art. The works are curated and juried by prominent area art professionals and the exhibit that runs from June through August is highly-acclaimed and extraordinary.

As Acura of Boston undertook extensive, facility-wide renovations in the spring of 2012, the need to provide interesting and thought-provoking artwork in the customer areas became apparent. The showing of the 2012 “Off the Wall’ at Danforth provided the answer.

The goal was to select photography that reflected urban or transportation themes in keeping with our location and our line of business; the result is the Acura of Boston Corporate Collection which adorns these walls. Please take the opportunity to walk through our Customer Lounge, CafĂ©, Quiet Room and Service Reception areas where the works are installed. We are proud that the majority of the artists who created these photographs live and work within miles of the dealership and that much of the art is reflective of the Brighton-Allston-Cambridge vicinity where we are located.

Our artists are: Susan Baggett of Wellesley, Pelle Cass of Brookline, Christopher Chadbourne of Boston, Howard Fineman of Newton, Francis Guardino of Brighton, David Hawkins of Auburndale, Doug Johnson of Marlborough, Stella Johnson of Watertown, Brian Kaplan of Brookline, Ronna Kazarian of Wayland, Sarah Pollman of Allston, Coleman Rogers of Lowell, Eleanor Steinadler of Cambridge, Cindy A. Stephens of Westford, and Catharyn Tivy of Brookline.

Many thanks to Katherine French, the dynamic Executive Director of Danforth Museum and School of Art, Jessica Roscio, Associate Curator and Museum Registrar at the Danforth and Vincent Marasa who so beautifully placed and installed these works; all three were instrumental in creating this impressive display.
